Da es in der letzten Zeit zu massiven Angriffen und Beleidigungen gegenüber Spiele-Entwicklern von sogenannten "Fans" gekommen ist, hat Keith Stuart vom britischen Guardian Videospiele-Fans dazu aufgerufen, den Entwicklern mittels Hashtag #WeLoveGameDevs auf Twitter ihre Anerkennung zu zeigen.
Das Hashtag landete seitdem in den Trending Topics in mehreren Ländern, worauf jetzt viele Entwickler und Publisher (Guerrilla Games, Naughty Dog, Square Enix, Ken Levine, Sony, uvm.) reagiert und geantwortet haben.
